Many became excellent advisors..
But too often, the advisory service depended on one person.
The business owner.
Clients wanted that person.
Team members lacked confidence.
Advisory became difficult to delegate.
Growth slowed.
Eventually, the owner became the bottleneck.
Having both built, led and sold our own successful practices, we knew there had to be a better way.
That's why we created APX.
Not simply to teach advisory...

How two independent business journeys came together to create APX Training.
Meet TIM
Tim has always believed that understanding the numbers is only part of helping a business succeed.
After 22 years working in industry, he built and successfully grew his own accountancy practice over 17 years, before selling the firm and turning his attention to helping other professionals develop their advisory capability.
He went on to create a successful advisory membership for accountants, bookkeepers and business coaches, where he developed practical frameworks that have helped professionals become more confident, think more commercially and create greater value for their clients.
As Co-Founder of APX, Tim now combines his commercial experience, practice ownership and advisory expertise to help firms build advisory teams that deliver consistent, high-value client experiences—without everything depending on one person.
Meet Deb
Deb believes that great businesses are built through people, practical systems and consistent implementation.
After 17 years building, scaling and successfully selling her own bookkeeping, accounting and advisory practice to her team, she experienced first-hand what it takes to grow a business beyond the owner. By developing a collaborative team and embedding advisory throughout the practice, she created a business that continued to deliver exceptional client experiences without everything depending on one person.
Before launching her own practice, Deb spent 17 years working across a variety of business sectors, gaining hands-on experience in retail management, sales, customer service, finance, marketing, leadership and corporate training. That commercial background continues to shape the practical, implementation-focused approach she brings to APX today.
Alongside co-founding APX, Deb has designed interactive learning programmes, advisory certifications and implementation frameworks that help accountants, bookkeepers and business coaches turn knowledge into action.
Her passion is helping professionals build confidence, develop their teams and create businesses that deliver lasting value - without becoming the bottleneck themselves.
